About VersaDesk

VersaDesk is a Los Angeles-based, American-made ergonomic workstation brand with 25+ years of manufacturing history. We design and build standing desks, converters, drafting tables, cubicles, and workspace accessories for corporate, education, healthcare, and government customers. Our belief is simple: workspaces should adapt to people. We're looking for a Director of Lifecycle & Retention Marketing to own the customer lifecycle from first purchase through repeat business, expansion, and referral — across both our DTC storefront and our B2B/institutional sales motion.

The Role

A Packer is responsible for preparing, inspecting, and securely packaging large  items—such as desks, chairs, cubicle panels, etc—for safe warehouse storage and transit. They ensure all customer orders are complete, damage-free, and labeled correctly according to shipping specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wrap and cushion items: Protect wood, laminate, glass, and metal surfaces using foam wrap, bubble wrap, corner pads, and shrink wrap.
  • Assemble custom cartons: Construct structural cardboard boxes and wooden pallets to size for complex furniture components.
  • Conduct quality checks: Inspect finished pieces for surface scratches, missing hardware, or structural defects prior to sealing.
  • Verify pick slips: Cross-reference physical product counts, hardware kits, and serial numbers against the order documentation.
  • Affix shipping labels: Place barcodes, handling stamps (like "Fragile" or "This Side Up"), and invoices prominently on the exterior container.
  • Load and secure inventory: Move wrapped items using heavy warehouse equipment and stack them safely onto delivery trucks to prevent shifting.
  • Keep an orderly workspace: Clear out cardboard debris, organize packing materials, and maintain a hazard-free staging floor.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Tool proficiency: Experience using manual and pneumatic tools like industrial tape guns, staple machines, box cutters, and shrink-wrap dispensers.
  • Equipment operation: Basic knowledge or certification in operating material handling tools such as pallet jacks or dollies.
  • High attention to detail: Precision to match complicated part numbers and ensure hardware kits are entirely complete.
  • Adaptable schedule: Flexibility to work changing warehouse shifts, including early mornings, overtime, or occasional weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours daily and lift up to 50 lbs consistently without assistance.
  • Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, twist, and repetitively lift heavy office furniture weighing up to 50 lbs.
