Data Analyst Intern

Los Angeles, CA
Full Time
Entry Level

About this role

This is a hands-on internship embedded within our Business Operations team. You’ll work directly on live dashboards, reporting pipelines, and operational analyses that leadership uses to make decisions. You’ll receive direct mentorship from the Business Operations Manager, gain experience with a modern data stack including BigQuery, Looker Studio, and Google Workspace, and gain exposure to the full business across manufacturing, inventory, sales, and finance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve executive dashboards in Looker Studio connected to BigQuery
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for recurring reports and ad hoc analysis
  • Maintain and audit data across core business systems — CRM, OMS, and MRP — ensuring records are accurate, consistent, and current across platforms
  • Clean, validate, and standardize data from multiple sources; identify and resolve discrepancies before they reach reporting
  • Analyze operational data (sales performance, inventory, fulfillment, channel trends) and translate findings into clear takeaways
  • Support the data pipeline: transformation logic, quality checks, and cross-system reconciliation
  • Build operational models and summaries in Google Sheets for stakeholder use
  • Partner with the Business Operations Manager on projects spanning financial reporting, system integration, and process improvement

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in SQL — can write joins, subqueries, and aggregations independently
  • Intermediate-to-advanced spreadsheet skills (Google Sheets or Excel)
  • Experience with a BI or reporting tool — BigQuery, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with data pipeline concepts: ETL, data modeling, warehouse structure
  • Experience working with business systems such as CRM, OMS, or ERP/MRP platforms
  • Strong analytical thinking — able to frame a business question, pull the data, and communicate what it means
  • Detail-oriented, with a consistent habit of validating data quality before drawing conclusions
  • Expected pay range for this role is starting at $22.00/hour.

Preferred

  • Experience with AI tools and AI-assisted workflows — LLMs, prompt engineering, automation, or building AI-powered processes
  • Background in e-commerce or manufacturing data (orders, inventory, fulfillment)
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own priorities in a small-team environment
